Around Town: A late Fourth
MARIPOSA -- Because of the large fires in Mariposa County, the Mariposa Kiwanis Club and the Mariposa Parks and Recreation Department were forced to postpone the July 4 celebration to Saturday.
The event will be a summer carnival with food and fun beginning at noon Saturday followed by entertainment and fireworks. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 8. Any firefighter in uniform will be admitted free.

Take a bike ride
All bikers are invited to ride out to Henderson Park at 1 p.m. Sunday for a fun afternoon of food, music and fellowship.
The Biker's Community Church event is designed to reach out to bikers throughout the San Joaquin Valley. The church meets every Saturday at 6 p.m. at 650 E. Olive Ave.

The Merced College Continuing Education Office will offer two mature driver improvement classes from
