The Atwater Women's Club will hold its fundraiser with Connie Corvelo's famous chicken salad from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at 1201 Grove Ave. Delivery is available between 11 a.m. and

Suds and sausage

Merced College Agriculture and Yosemite Farm Credit are sponsoring a suds and sausage sampler on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Participants will be served more than 100 different brands of beer, wine sausages, cheeses and more to delight the taste buds. The evening will also include a silent auction, live auction, and a drawing for prizes.

Tickets are $30 and participants must be at least 21 years old. Proceeds from the event will benefit agriculture students at Merced College.

Years of friendship

For 20 years, Merced has maintained ties of friendship, support, and solidarity with its sister city, Somoto, Nicaragua.

A celebration of the 20 years of friendship will be held on Oct. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Wesley Hall of the United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way, Merced.

Harvest of love

St. Anthony's will host its 17th annual Harvest of Love dinner and dance at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the APC Hall.

Our Lady of Mercy Preschool will host a fundraiser to benefit the Susan B. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Morning Glory Inn. The event will include a luncheon, a fashion show featuring OLM preschool children and breast cancer survivors.
