Fires force postponed July 4 celebration
MARIPOSA -- Because of large fires in Mariposa County, the Fourth of July celebration put on by the Mariposa Kiwanis Club and the Mariposa Parks and Recreation Department has been postponed.
The firefighters are using the fairgrounds to stage during the fires, so the celebration will be moved to noon on July 26.
The event will honor the firefighters who have helped battle recent fires in Mariposa County. Admission to the fireworks is $5 for adults and free for children under 8 years old.
