The city of Merced said it was conducting its semiannual surplus sale Monday through Friday next week.
The property may be inspected at the office, 2525 O St, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
There are 15 vehicles up for auction, including vans, pickups and former police cruisers. Other items include cameras from Canon, Minolta, Vivitar or Polaroid. One of the lots for sale includes five camera tripods.
Several calculators are available, as well as computers, monitors or a computer stand. Also for sale are household items, including a clothes washer and dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, stove and microwave, several TVs and a variety of chairs.
Before the vehicles can be registered the winning bidders must get smog certificates. All computers and laptops are missing hard drives for security reasons.
A bid packet listing the 191 lots up for sale is available at the City Purchasing Office. It also is on the city's Web site, www.cityofmerced.org on the home page under "Public Information."
A city spokesman said all items are sold "as is," and there is no warranty or guarantee on the items. Bidders are expected to inspect the items before submitting a bid. Proposals will be accepted until 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at the Purchasing Office.
Those with winning bids will be notified that afternoon. In most cases winners must pick up their equipment within 14 days. Payment must be made in cash, cashier's check or money order. No personal checks will be accepted.
