A 50-year-old man is clinging to life after being severely beaten early Thursday morning in the Beachwood area, the Merced County Sheriff's Department reported.
Investigators are not releasing the victim's name.The incident was reported shortly before 2 a.m. in the 2000 block of Beachwood Drive, according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman. The victim suffered the injuries during a fight with 38-year-old Thomas Grissom, MacKenzie said. He remains in critical condition.
