A 38-year-old Oakdale man was arrested this week on suspicion of molesting a teenage girl, Merced police reported.
Daniel Eugene Kessinger was taken into custody around 9 a.m. Monday in the county probation office's parking lot at 2222 M Street, according to Lt. Andre Matthews, police spokesman.
Police released few details about the arrest Wednesday, in order to protect the integrity of the investigation, Matthews said.

Matthews said the victim's family notified police about the alleged abuse. After interviewing the girl, detectives Raquel Rios and Brian Rodriguez contacted the suspect and booked him into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of lewd acts with a child over age 14.
Kessinger was a Merced resident when the crime happened earlier this year, but now lives in Oakdale, Matthews said. The suspect had been on probation in Merced for domestic violence.
Police are asking anyone with information about the alleged crime to call Detective Raquel Rios at (209) 388-7766.
