Burglary case leads to arrest of 'Most Wanted'

DELHI -- This week's "Most Wanted Man," John Angel Fuentes, is in custody after his alleged accomplice was arrested in a burglary investigation, the Merced County Sheriff Department said Friday.

Detective Buck Ledford has been investigating a burglary in the Delhi area. His investigation led him to Anthony Flores, 30, of Delhi. An anonymous tip led deputies to where Flores was living in the 16000 block of Driftwood Court in Delhi.

Flores already had an outstanding felony warrant on a narcotics charges.

Flores was arrested Nov. 4 at his home by deputies and booked on the warrant and additional charges of burglary. He remains in custody.

Detective Ledford then shifted the focus of his investigation on Flores' alleged accomplice, John Angel Fuentes.

Fuentes, who is on parole, was talked into making a "home visit" to a hotel on Golden State Boulevard in Turlock by his parole agent Wednesday, the day he was put on the "Most Wanted" list.

When Fuentes arrived at the hotel he found detectives Ledford and Alex Barba waiting with an arrest warrant.

Fuentes was taken into custody without incident. Ledford is in the process of trying to retrieve the stolen property.

Fuentes remains in custody without bail on burglary charges and violation of parole.
