Letter: Our town is in ruins
Editor: It is so frustrating to look around our neighborhood and see it in a steady decline of upkeep including the yard and structural integrity of fences and houses. The property owners (or their renters if stipulated in a renter's contract) should be held accountable for our community neighborhoods turning into ruins.
I have complained to the city regarding a neighbor to the west who has allowed that property to become overgrown with weeds and vines which inevitably have encroached upon our property. The property owner was asked by the city to clean it up. In response, the neighbor parked an automobile to hide the lowly site from view of the street, but not our view! A relative stated that we shouldn't worry about what is outside of our lot, but how can we not when it is in clear view on a daily basis?
