Editor: I will not be giving out candy this Halloween.
This year is very different; with the threat of this horrible flu, my porch light will not be on. I do not want any little ghosts or goblins coming to my front door to give me the flu or to pass the germs on to any other child.
I am an elderly woman and I have always given out candy on Halloween.
Parents, please find games to play, hide your candy around your own home. Let your children dress up and decorate your own homes. Take pictures, play games, bob for apples or go to a family get-together, but keep your children home or away from other children.
Explain to the children how sick they could get from this flu. Keep them safe.
