Letter: Inspiring story

Editor: Have we ever seen a finer face than that of the wood carver gentleman featured in Sun-Star Executive Editor Mike Tharp's column in Perspective on Saturday?

It is a face that reflects vitality, goodwill and good old-fashioned virtues: kindliness, generosity, industriousness, dutifulness and the plain everyday joy in being, doing and giving.

A beautiful face that stands as reassurance that the human race is still just fine, thank you very much, despite the disheartening news -- local and global -- that bombards us everyday of the week.

Thank you for a refreshing and inspiring story.
