Letter: Right on money

Editor: It is very seldom I agree with Leonard Pitts Jr., but his recent column concerning the new "Conservative Bible" was right on the money.

If the writers are changing the Bible to somehow suggest that Jesus would be against welfare or health care for everybody, they do not know Jesus Christ in any way, shape or form. Any minor reading of the mission of Jesus Christ shows a Christ going around healing the people and feeding them. You cannot separate the works of Christ from his teachings. He set the example he wanted us to live and often fall so short.

Conservatives, push your views all you wish, but don't use and abuse the good Lord Jesus Christ in doing so.
