Editor: The editorial Monday, "All or nothing may not have been best idea," regarding the local cycling officials and their attempts to bring back the Tour of California was quite harsh.
Remembering back to the months before the race in February, minimal information about the race was run by the Sun-Star -- with the exception of the day-before-race information and advertisements.
I find this to be indicative of the attitude toward the cycling race by the newspaper editors.
It seemed that the Sun-Star didn't want to help the process this year, and it is clear by the editorial that the Sun-Star could care less about helping.
If the Sun-Star wants to provide support for the cycling, why don't you provide coverage of the four races already held within the Merced area (dates, locations, results)?
This would provide coverage of the local events and would have been more positive than an editorial that directs negativity to the members of our community who are trying to make it better.
