Tryouts for Merced girl's travel league basketball for grades seventh through 12th grades will be held this Saturday at the Merced High gym from 1-3 p.m.
The Fireballs is a new baseball/softball league in Merced for kids ages 4-9.
Merced's Brian Morse and his playing partner Richard H. Lee enjoyed an impressive first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The duo combined to shoot an 11-under 59 at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Thursday, good for fifth place. Morse and Lee are two shots off the co-leaders Padraig Harrington/J.P. McManus and Danny Lee/Steve Green. Morse and Lee will tee-off today at Pebble Beach at 10:05 a.m.
