The Merced United Explosion under-14 girls competitive soccer team is looking for a few more players born between Aug. 1, 1995, and July 31, 1996.

If interested, contact coach Lance Eber at 631-4941.

Softball

The National Softball Association is set to host a number of girls fastpitch tournaments at Joe Herb Park.

The No Mercy in Merced begins today and runs through the weekend, and the Last Chance Tournament is Nov. 21-22.

Basketball

Registrations for the City of Merced's 2010 Junior NBA Warriors Basketball League will take place through Nov. 20.

There will be Pee Wee (third and fourth grades), JV (fifth and sixth grades) and varsity (seventh and eighth grades).

Register at the City of Parks and Community Services on weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Football

The Annual "Black and Gold" Dinner and Auction benefitting the Buhach Colony football and baseball programs will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Merced County Fairgrounds.

The theme will be Mardi Gras and the night will include a sit-down steak dinner, no-host bar, dancing and raffle for a seven-day Mexican Riviera cruise for two with stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas.

The "Black and Gold" event will start at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets will be on sale at all Buhach Colony football games, or by contacting Buhach Colony Quarterback Club Treasurer Deann Floro at (209) 233-2827.
