LAST ROUND: Hilmar beat Ripon in two OTs, 2-1; Central Catholic knocked off Linden in a penalty shootout, 4-2.
HISTORY: CC secured the WAC title by beating Hilmar twice.
SEEING RED: Hilmar will be without leading scorer Haylee Bettencourt and cousin Tiffani Costa. Costa was ejected in the final minute of the first half for taunting the official, but Bettencourt's red card was bizarre. She was ejected without warning in the final minute of the second overtime -- away from the play.
ENERGY: Both teams slugged it out in Thursday's 102-degree heat wave. It will be interesting to see how their fitness recovers after just one day off. Hilmar almost didn't make it through 100 minutes of soccer; one player collapsed and another got a random bloody nose.
