Merced Police Officers Association set to host annual golf tournament

Football

The Winton Cowboys youth football team is currently registering players through July on Saturdays from 2-4:30 p.m. at Winton's Pizza Plus.

Registration is open to youths ages 7-14 that are not enrolled in high school. Contact Russ at 631-4548.

Basketball

The California Youth Basketball League is currently registering for its AAU/Competitive girls instructional camp, which runs through Aug. 10. For more info, call (916)391-3900.

Soccer

The City of Livingston Recreation Department is holding registration for its Youth Soccer League on July 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at Livingston City Hall, located at 1416 C St.

Registration forms can be picked up at the office or online at www.livingstoncity.com. The season runs August through October. Registration fee is $55.

Softball

The men's Die Hard Softball Tournament will be held today at the Hanford Sport Complex. Registration is $150 plus NSA registration. For more information, contact (559) 284-7041.

The CA Grapettes are holding tryouts for its 12 & under, 14 & under and 18 Gold fall/summer travel ball teams throught August.

All try-outs will be held at the Lodi Complex.

The 12 & unders will be held August 10, 17 and 24 on field No. 2 at 9 a.m. For more info call Laura at (209) 985-2573.

The City of Merced is taking registration for the fall adult softball program.

There are Men's, Women's, CO-ED, Co-Ed Incrediball, Men's 35 and over and a wood bat league.

The cost is $500 per team, with six teams per league. Games will be played weekday evenings at Joe Herb Park.

High schools

All Atwater High sports physicals will be Sunday at Atwater Medical Group (1775 Third St.).

Times are as follows: boys are scheduled for 9 to 11:30 a.m. and girls are scheduled for 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $15 per person.

Baseball

The Livingston Recreation Department is currently accepting rosters for the adult men's baseball league, ages 16 and older. Team registration is $535. For more information, contact 394-8830.

Golf

The M.P.O.A. will host the Stephen Gray Memorial Fund Annual Golf Tournament on August 9 at Ranch Del Rey Golf Club.

You can sign up as an individual ($75) or a foursome ($300). The format is a four-person scramble.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the shotgun start begins at 8 a.m.

The event will have hole-in-one prizes, a 50-50 money hole, auctions and raffles.
