Friday's prep football stars

Erik Martin

Los Banos quarterback

Martin went toe-to-toe with one of the best QBs in Northern California. The junior accounted for 284 yards of total offense and five touchdowns -- four through the air and one on the ground.

Tony Ortegan

Le Grand running back

Ortegan proved he could handle the workload on Friday night, carrying the ball

23 times. He highlighted

Le Grand's ground game with 126 yards and two TDs.

Lupe Diaz

Le Grand wide receiver

Diaz turned in a Brandon Marshall-like effort. The tall, speedy wideout was quarterback Martin Alvarez's favorite target, finishing with 13 catches and 108 yards.

Stephon Mathis

Merced running back

Mathis went over the 100-yard mark again. The junior carried the rock 20 times for 147 yards and a score.

Kenny Cooper

Merced wide receiver

Cooper gave Merced fans reason to cheer late. Cooper had seven catches for 126 yards, including an 80-yard scoring grab in garbage time.

Matthew Borges

Stone Ridge quarterback

All Borges does is produce. The SRC quarterback was

12 of 19 for 156 yards and

two touchdowns. He also had 49 yards rushing.

Kyle Espinola

Chowchilla running back

Espinola had run touchdown runs of 43 and 7 yards in the fourth quarter, leading Chowchilla to a come-from-behind 46-41 victory over Modesto Christian.

OTHERS: WR Manuel Haro (Los Banos); QB Rob Diepersloot (Chowchilla); RB Corey Chapman (BC).
