CHOWCHILLA -- So close.
Not the outcome -- Michael York's perfect game.
York's only blemish was a pitch that grazed a Coalinga batter's uniform, as the Chowchilla baseball team earned an 11-0 playoff win on Thursday.
York's 10-strikeout performance -- combined with seven different Chowchilla batters driving in runs -- highlighted the Central Section Division IV win.
The no-hitter is York's second this season.
Matt Wiley went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Chowchilla (24-6)
Next up for Chowchilla is Dos Palos, which won in its last at-bat on Thursday at home against Taft.
The Division IV semifinal game will be played on Tuesday at Chowchilla.
