Up Your Alley: Hall of Famer donates to BVL

The Helen Duval Scholarship Club has contributed $10,930.95 to the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL) program.

Duval, a Bay Area resident and a BVL ambassador for more than 30 years, has had a lifelong commitment to America's veterans. She began her role as BVL ambassador in 1972, touring VA hospitals to teach recuperating veterans how to bowl and getting hundreds of vets active in the sport.

The BVL was founded in 1942 by the sport of bowling to support veterans and active-duty military. Since its inception, the BVL has contributed more than $35 million to programs for the VA hospital.
