The Helen Duval Scholarship Club has contributed $10,930.95 to the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL) program.
Duval, a Bay Area resident and a BVL ambassador for more than 30 years, has had a lifelong commitment to America's veterans. She began her role as BVL ambassador in 1972, touring VA hospitals to teach recuperating veterans how to bowl and getting hundreds of vets active in the sport.
The BVL was founded in 1942 by the sport of bowling to support veterans and active-duty military. Since its inception, the BVL has contributed more than $35 million to programs for the VA hospital.
Duval is a National WIBC Hall of Fame member -- inducted in 1970 -- and she was inducted into the California Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1974. Our local BVL tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Bellevue Bowl with proceeds going to benefit all our VA hospitals.

In the Monday Merchants at Bellevue Bowl, John Nunes rolled his first-ever 200 game. In the Commercial Classic at Bellevue, Kevin Heil picked up a 2-4-6-10 split. Just one question, Kev: How'd you leave that in the first place?
