Modesto police are searching for a 36-year-old woman who mysteriously disappeared four days ago.
Dena Michelle McCluskey, also known as Dena Raley, was last seen about 2 p.m. Sunday by her aunt. McCluskey had stopped by her aunt's home alone for a short visit, police spokesman Kelly Huston said.
McCluskey's gray four-door 1987 Nissan Stanza was found at about 11 a.m. Thursday abandoned in the 2000 block of Oakdale Road between Briggsmore and Floyd avenues. The car was unlocked and the keys were not inside, Huston said.
"The car was parked on the street in front of an apartment complex and there was dust on the car," Huston said. "The car will be processed Friday for evidence."
"The woman's family believes something is definitely wrong about her disappearance because she has never run away or disappeared before and she has never left her car parked somewhere, especially at an unexplainable location. She reportedly didn't know anyone in that part of town," Huston said.
"She also has family members and friends that she has daily contact with and they haven't heard from her since Sunday," he added.
McCluskey's family members said she never missed work. McCluskey had been working a temporary clerical job in the Stanislaus County administrative building on H street in downtown Modesto.
McCluskey's boyfriend reported her missing Wednesday night. Mark Keough, 41, of Modesto told police he hadn't seen her since Sunday.
The missing woman lived northwest of Memorial Medical Center on Karen Way with two roommates. She had paid her rent Sunday, Huston said. The roommates said they have no idea what happened to McCluskey.
The missing woman has short blond hair and green eyes. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 85 to 100 pounds. She also wears a Medical Alert bracelet.
