Vikings settle into new league with win over Falcons

Last Saturday the Livingston Vikings Pop Warner team held their season opener at Livingston High School and found the move to be a good one. After months of planning, the Livingston Vikings settled into their new league with a Falcon feather in their cap.

In a daylong contest of varying levels and age groups, the Pop Warner match-up at the varsity level seemed to prove that the Livingston Vikings made the right move to be included in a league that is made up of bigger towns in the Central Valley.

“We hoped that the Varsity would remain competitive in this new league, and tonight they’ve made a great start,” said Viking board member Junior Ayala.

The Vikings were the first to put points on the scoreboard with a touchback and also the last with an extra point. Atwater moved the ball, having several burst for yardage and multiple first downs, but the endzone eluded them.

The final score was Vikings 38 – Falcons 0.
