How does your child feel about the recession? Watch this video.

Students at Village Academy High School in Pomona, Calif. created a video called is "Is anyone listening?"

The footage is gripping and shows just how much students are tuned in to the struggles of their families and communities.

"I can't imagine what is going to happen for our generation," one girl said. Another said the stress and sadness of her home life is too much for her to handle along with school work. Several young gentlemen break down when speaking about their family struggles.

The video was created after the students started discussing "The Great Gatsby," a novel that chronicles the material excesses of 1920s New York.

The video has been uploaded to the school district's Web site. Here is a link: http://webapps.pusd.org/Video/Visits/HearUs360_240/hear_us.html.

President Barack Obama spoke about the video in a speech last week.

The Los Angeles Times ran a great story on the students and the video last Friday.
