Free coupons for seniors
Free Farmers' Markets Coupon Booklets for low-income senior citizens are now available. For distribution sites or more information, call (209) 385-7550. Booklets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Senior citizens can purchase produce, herbs and honey at any of the California Department of Aging-approved certified farmers' markets in Merced, Los Banos and Dos Palos. The booklets are worth $20 each.

Leadership Merced alumni
Leadership Merced, the leadership program sponsored by the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce, has announced that it will be forming an alumni association. Leadership Merced classes 1 through 23 are encouraged to contact the Chamber office at (209) 384-7092 to request a pledge card to become a full-fledged member of the Leadership Merced Alumni Association. Day camp for kids
The Livingston Recreation Department will host Summer Day Camp for kids kindergarten through sixth grade. Cost is $11 for a full day or $6 for half a day. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camp will be held at Campus Park Elementary School. There are four sessions to choose from and four different themes. Love animals?
Trails of Happy Tails, a local nonprofit group dedicated to saving shelter animals and finding them new homes, needs volunteers to help.
Especially needed are people who can foster kittens for a few days, or mother dogs and their new puppies for a short time.
Also needed are people to help take photos of shelter animals or to help transport animals to rescue organizations. No personal vehicles are needed for transportation.
