DELHI -- Merced County Sheriff's Department deputies reported finding several guns Tuesday while conducting a follow-up investigation into a gang-related stabbing of a 15-year-old boy this week.
Meanwhile, the sheriff's department released a photo of the second suspect in the stabbing. They're hoping members of the public will help investigators determine his whereabouts.
The guns were found after deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 9000 block of Donovan Street around 10:30 a.m., according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman.
Detectives recovered two 12-gauge shotguns, an assault rifle and a 9-millimeter handgun, reported stolen out of the Dos Palos area, MacKenzie said. No arrests were made at the house.
The second suspect in the stabbing has been identified as Cristino Alvarez, 21, of Delhi.
Deputies believe Alvarez and another suspect, 18-year-old Francisco Salgado, stabbed the 15-year-old boy near Shanks Road and Darlington Avenue on Monday. The victim, who suffered three stab wounds, is expected to survive, MacKenzie said.
Salgado was arrested shortly after the stabbing.
In addition to being wanted in connection with the stabbing, Alvarez also faces possible weapons charges.
Alvarez is described as a Latino male, about 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds.
