Yosemite National Park received a $5.8 million grant from The Yosemite Fund on Monday, according to a statement from the nonprofit organization.
The funds will help the park in restoring trails and protecting natural habitat, among other uses.
"People care deeply about preserving Yosemite," said Mike Tollefson, president of The Yosemite Fund. "Without help from our generous donors, many of these projects would not be possible."
In 2009 the fund's donors paid for 56 projects in the park. Since it started in 1988, the Yosemite Fund has funneled $55 million to the park for more than 300 projects.
