One of several suspects in the beating and robbery of a man near Cruickshank School Sunday was arrested by the Merced police, said Lt. Tom Trindad with the Merced Police Department.
The man, 47, was beaten with a blunt object and robbed by three suspects near the school, he told police. The suspects took the man's money.
The victim suffered a serious head injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then released, said police, who declined to release his name.
Soon after the incident was reported, police, with the aid of witnesses, tracked down the vehicle of one of the suspects. The car was found at the 600 block of San Diego Court.
Krista Loa, 29, was found in a nearby apartment showering, her bloody clothes nearby.
A club suspected to have been used in the robbery was found at the location as well, along with an ounce of marijuana found in Loa's car, police said.
Loa was arrested for robbery and taken into custody at the Merced County Jail.
