Manna House fete

The 15th anniversary to honor community and Manna House will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Mariposa as Chocolate Soup welcomes the holiday season.

Proceeds will go to Manna House, a critical lifeline for many who need sustenance and food during these difficult times. They will also host the Trans Valley Youth Football Super Bowl. All the historic attractions and businesses will be open.

Cioppino dinner

The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will host its 22nd annual cioppino dinner and auction on Friday at St. Patrick's Hall.

Tickets are $50 for all you can eat New York steak and cioppino, plus a fabulous auction.

Symphony opens

The Merced Symphony will open its 2009-2010 season at 7:30 Saturday at Lakireddy Auditorium, UC Merced, with a pre-concert reception at 6 p.m.

Holiday bazaar

The Atwater Unit of United Methodist Women will host its 55th annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church on the corner of Linden and Bellevue.

Start your holiday shopping with beautiful handcrafted, homemade items. A soup luncheon will also be held.

Retired teachers

The California Retired Teachers Association will host a breakfast meeting in conjunction with a tour of the Merced County Courthouse at 8 a.m. Nov. 10 led by Presiding Judge John Kirihara, followed by breakfast at Toni's Courtyard Cafe.
