Ag container recycling events

The Merced County Agriculture Commissioner's office has announced two agricultural container recycling events in November.

These events give Merced County growers another option to traditional methods of container disposal.

The first event will be held today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stanislaus Farm Supply, 674 S. Highway 59 in Merced. Another event will be held on Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crop Production Services, 265 N. Arboleda Drive in Merced.

Ag commissioner staff will be on site to provide assistance to help with rinse certificates. Containers should be triple rinsed in accordance with CCR section 6684. Containers with materials that can be smeared or removed will be unacceptable, and those containers will be returned to the grower for proper rinsing.

Home use pesticides or containers holding products not used for crop protection (antifreeze, oil, solvents, etc.) will not be accepted.

For more information, call (209) 385-7431.
