Black, White Ball
The John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation's annual Black and White Ball will be Saturday at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.
"A Night on the Orient Express" is this year's theme and there will be raffles for great prizes. Come for glamour, intrigue, surprises, fun and to support the hospital. There will be 11 baskets to raffle and more. Tickets are $75 each and are available at 5102 Highway 140, Suite A.

'The Bible'
Playhouse Merced's Black Box Theater will present "The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged)" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14, at at 2 p.m. Nov. 15.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will host its annual harvest dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at St. Paul's School.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5 to 12. It will be a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. Country store with handmade items also open.

COVE anniversary
COVE, which stands for Center of Vision Enhancement, will celebrate its first anniversary with a dinner and auction Nov. 14.
COVE is a resource center for information, referrals, support for those with visual impairments, education and training. They have access to vision aids and assisted technologies. Their store is at 2475 Canal St. Your support in the donation of an item for the auction will be appreciated.

Polenta dinner
The Italian Catholic Federation, Branch No. 39 will serve a polenta and chicken cacciatore dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Italo American Lodge Hall, 18th and U streets.
Cost is $13 or $7 for children under 12 and will be served family-style. Proceeds go to scholarships and various other community programs.
