Merced County sheriff's deputies released the names Thursday of four men arrested this week on suspicion of stabbing a Gustine man to death.
Ruben Silva, 22, David Silva, 23, Mark Oseguera, 24, Richard Naudin, 30, were arrested in Southern California, said deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman.
A fifth suspect in the case has been released for a lack of evidence, MacKenzie said.
The men are being held on a variety of charges, including suspicion of murder, accessory to murder and participation in a criminal street gang. They will be extradited to Merced County next week for arraignment.
The department isn't releasing additional information about the suspects, such as where they live or their alleged gang affiliation, because the investigation is continuing, MacKenzie said.
Investigators believe the suspects stabbed 33-year-old Bill James at the Gustine Club, 431 Fifth St. The stabbing was reported about 11:30 p.m. Friday, and the victim was found in the street outside the bar.
Investigators believe eight to 10 men walked into the bar. A fight erupted after the suspects approached the victim. During the fight, MacKenzie said, one of the suspects sprayed bar patrons with a can of Mace or pepper spray.
Once the bar was empty, the attackers stabbed James several times. The fight spilled onto the street. James was stabbed again and collapsed, MacKenzie said.
Although the suspects are believed to be members of an outlaw biker gang, detectives have no indication the victim was gang-affiliated.
