Out-of-control car smashes home

A woman driver lost control of her car at Donna Lane near G Street and smashed into the kitchen of a nearby home Friday afternoon, said acting battalion chief Jeff Horta of the Merced Fire Department.

The car smashed into the dining room and kitchen, but no one was in either room at the time, said Horta. One occupant in the home suffered minor injuries. The driver refused medical treatment.
