Livingston gets $800K from state HOME program
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) said it got $25.2 million from the federal HOME Investments Partnership Program.
The funds included $800,000 to the city of Livingston.
Of that total, $400,000 went to first-time homebuyers; another $400,00 was awarded to owner-occupied rehabilitation homes.
Funds were awarded to 32 cities and counties to provide housing opportunities for Californians.
“This funding is critical for creating and maintaining affordable housing options up and down the state — and for creating more jobs for the California economy," said HCD Director Lynn L. Jacobs.
The HOME program provides funds to eligible cities and counties that don’t get HOME funds directly from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funds can be used for a variety of affordable housing programs, including down-payment assistance, housing rehabilitation, first-time homebuyer and tenant-based rental assistance.
The 32 awards will go to projects in the cities and towns of Avenal, Arcata, Clovis, Corcoran, Delano, Dinuba, Gardena, Grass Valley, Gridley, Huron, Lake, Lakeport, Livingston, Lodi, Madera, Orland, Oroville, Napa, Paradise, Parlier, Shasta Lake, Thousand Oaks and Upland; and the counties of Colusa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Mono, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Trinity and Tuolumne.
