Embezzlement defendant Kimberly Sziraki pleaded not guilty to 13 felony counts of embezzlement in Merced County Superior Court on Thursday.
Her next court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17, according to Merced County District Attorney's Office staff.
Sziraki, 45, was arrested Jan. 7 on suspicion of embezzling money from Central Valley Processing Acquisition Corp. in Merced, where she'd worked as a manager.
Merced Sun-Star - Kimberly Sziraki, 44, was taken into custody by Merced County District Attorney’s Office investigators, after a nine-month investigation into accusations that she embezzled the funds from Central Valley Processing Acquisition Corp., 4315 East Childs Ave., according to Pat Lunney, chief investigator for the DA’s office.
In addition to the 13 counts Sziraki pleaded to on Thursday, she's already facing three existing felony counts of embezzlement and one count of unlawful use of an access card.
She is accused of embezzling around $1.6 million from Central Valley Processing and faces a maximum of 17 years in prison.
