Dos Palos football, Schofield coast by Central Valley Christian

DOS PALOS -- The Dos Palos ground game pounded its way into the second round of the Central Section Division IV playoffs on Friday night.

Kevin Schofield ran for a game-high 199 yards, David Quiroz added 160 and Dos Palos ran over Central Valley Christian for 351 rushing yards en route to a 35-14 victory.

Schofield scored on runs of 9, 17 and 66 yards to help Dos Palos build a 28-7 third-quarter lead.

CVC's Justin Roeloffs briefly got his team back into the game, returning a kickoff 94 yards for a score.

Dos Palos' Greg Ray put any comeback to rest, returning the ensuing kickoff 82 yards for a score.

DP (6-5) will travel to No. 3 Taft next Friday.
