Merced County resident Lynn Skinner has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's California Farm Service Agency State Committee.
Skinner was raised on a working California family farm, and she and her husband operate the historic Wolfsen Land and Cattle Co., carrying on a family agribusiness legacy that has spanned 80 years.
As one of the State Committee members, Skinner will help oversee such activities as carrying out state agricultural conservation programs, resolving appeals from the agriculture community and keeping producers informed about FSA programs.
