Golden Valley wrestling knocked out early at section dual meet
Golden Valley wrestling coach Chopper Mello felt his team came out flat and it cost them in a
44-28 loss to Sheldon on Saturday in the first round of the
Sac-Joaquin Section Division I dual championships at Rosemont High.
Golden Valley was seeded No. 3 in the tournament.
Christian Vasquez (103 pounds), Blaze Fidler (112), Daniel Gonzalez (152), Joey Allen (171) and
Nathan Terry (189) all won matches for GV.
Elk Grove defeated Vacaville 38-15 to win the section championship.
