Local musician, students in concert

Legendary performer Roddy Jackson will share his talents with his students as he presents a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at Gottschalk's Music of Merced, located at 355 W. Main St.

An article in Monday's Sun-Star incorrectly listed the performance date.

The concert, which will be an hour and free to the public, will also include several of Jackson's students performing a variety of musical selections.

Some of the instruments that will be played include piano, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trombone and drums. The concert will also include an eclectic mix of music, such as Broadway and movie themes, classical, jazz, country and rock.

Jackson is well-known locally as a former member of the famed Merced Blue Notes. He also co-wrote the song "She Said Yeah," which was covered by The Animals and the Rolling Stones.

For more information about the concert, call (209) 261-1366.
