A 3-year-old boy suffered moderate to severe injuries after running into the road and getting hit by a car Monday evening.
Rosie Wedderbern, 37, was driving west on Ashby Road at speeds of 40 to 45 mph, when Edgar Hernandez ran from his driveway and into the street in front of Wedderbern's 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Shane Ferriera.
The driver tried to brake, but was unable to stop her car before crashing into the child as he tried to cross the street, CHP officers said.
