Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church will host Soup Suppers/Lenten Worship Services today, March 17 and 24 at 1455 E. Yosemite Ave.

Come and enjoy homemade soup and dessert at 6 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. at Lineberger Hall.

Bloodmobile The Bloodmobile will be in front of the training room at the Human Services Agency in Merced from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Friday. It will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 13th and M streets from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. It will be at the California Highway Patrol Atwater station, 1500 Bell Drive, from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.


Sister's soul food

The National Council of Negro Women will host its Sister's Soul Food Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St.

Native Daughters

The Veritas Parlor #75 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West will host the district's 20th annual Native Daughter Home Luncheon at noon Saturday at the United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Park Way.

All-you-can-eat soups, salad, breads and desserts will be served. Tickets are $20 and reservations can be made by calling (209) 357-3793.


Unitarian meeting

The Merced Unitarian Universalist group will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Unity Church of Merced, 305 W. 26th St.

The subject will be "Who Said It's Cold, Hard Science?" All are invited to join in this discussion.

85th anniversary Young Ladies Institute #117 will celebrate the 85th anniversary of its founding at 11 a.m. March 20 at St. Anthony's Church followed by a luncheon at St. Anthony's Hall.
