A 65-year-old Delhi woman is missing and her family members and Merced County sheriff's deputies are asking the public for help finding her.
Charlene McCombs went missing between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday from her house in the 9000 block of Merced Avenue in Delhi, according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff's spokesman.
McCombs was distraught and left her home after finding out her mother died. MacKenzie said McCombs has a medical condition and is considered "at risk."
McCombs' brother had informed her by phone of their mother's death. McCombs made some concerning statements before walking out the front door of her residence, leaving the door wide open.
Detectives are unsure whether she was wearing shoes when she left, MacKenzie said.
McCombs is described as a white woman about 5-feet-4-inches tall, 120 pounds with dark brown hair. She has braces on her teeth and might be wearing a brown sweater and blue jeans. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Merced County Sheriff's Department at (209) 385-7445.
