LIVINGSTON -- Longtime Livingston Planning Commissioner David Blevins has withdrawn from the field of applicants vying for three open commission seats.
Blevins' term expired on Dec. 31, but he had submitted an application for reappointment to the board. Blevins made the announcement at Tuesday night's commission meeting.
Blevins, 42, a store manager for Sam's Food City, had served eight years on the commission.
"I just decided it was time to go," Blevins said about his sudden announcement. "I've had a good time. It's been eight years. It's time to give someone else a chance to do that."
He said he plans to "just enjoy life, take care of my kids and see where it leads me."
The City Council will hold public interviews of the seven remaining Planning Commission applicants at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers, 1416 C St.
