Around Town: Shrimp feed

The Merced Sunrise Rotary will hold its annual all-you-can-eat-shrimp feed at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

Tickets are $30 each. Proceeds will benefit the many service projects of the Merced Sunrise Rotary.

Martial arts demo The UC Merced martial arts team will host a Martial Arts Workshop fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Joseph Edward Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center.

It will feature multiple styles of martial arts. This is open to the public, no experience required. Admission is $10.

Pastors Henry and Grace Falany of Mariposa Revival Center will host The Heart of California Roundtable of Apostles and Prophets on March 18 to 20 at the senior center on Springs Lane at 7 p.m. on the 18 and 19 and at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 20.

Annual rendezvous

The Backcountry Horsemen of California will have its annual rendezvous on March 19 to 21 at the Merced County Fairgrounds.

There will be trainers giving demonstrations, proper etiquette while trail riding, packing in the mountains, Dutch Oven Cooking demonstrations, contests, trail trials contests and various vendors selling horse-related tack and equipment. Something for everyone.

Casino bus trip

The Veritas Parlor #75 Native Daughters of the Golden West will sponsor a bus trip to Black Oak Casino on March 20.

The bus will pick up in Atwater at 8:25 a.m., Merced at 8:40 a.m. for a five-hour stay. Tickets are $22 and proceeds will benefit the parlor's new scholarship program.
