Golden Valley's Johnson earns spot on all-Central California Conference team

Tori Johnson attracted the attention of every Golden Valley opponent this season.

The sophomore sharp-shooter was hardly a secret.

Still, Johnson found a way to get open, scoring over 12 points per game.

Her performance caught the attention of the Central California Conference coaches. Johnson was one of just three area players named to the all-CCC first team.

Johnson was joined on the team by Merced's Lauren Lilly and

Atwater's Amber Gutierrez.

Pitman's Jasmine Washington was named the CCC Most Valuable Player.

Turlock's Salina Mabie and Atwater's Jason Boesch were named

Co-Coach of the Year.

Boesch helped Atwater end a long playoff drought.

After breezing through the CCC with a perfect 12-0 record, Turlock dominated the first team with Candace Sukuda, Kayla Schuman and Camille Roberts all earning first-team honors.

Atwater's Patience Madayag and Ebbonie Harris were named to the second team along with the Los Banos duo of Brianna Harden and Ieashia Isby.

Also making the second team were Merced's Brittany Huddleston,

Buhach Colony's Jessica Silva and Turlock's Nicole Serpa.

Miranda Flores and Veronica Moreno were both named to the all-SL first team after leading Le Grand to a

second-place finish with a 13-2 record.

Mariposa's Brook Barrett and

Delhi's Sheena Prasad both were named to the second team.

Turlock Christian's Amy Wright was named the league MVP and

Edwin Santiago was named the

Southern League

The Southern League MVP was no surprise. After leading Mariposa to a perfect 15-0 record, senior Cody Wichmann was named the MVP.

The 6-foot-6 center averaged 19.4 points and just under 12 rebounds per game.

Mariposa's Trace DeSandres was named the SL Coach of the Year.

Le Grand placed two players on the SL first team in Dannon Graham and Zack Moreno.

They were joined on the team by Mariposa's Chaney Pierce and Delhi's Oscar Borg.
