Efforts to save salmon and steelhead in Central Valley streams will be the topic of an April 1 meeting in Salida.
The National Marine Fisheries Service will review the comments it has received on its recovery plan for the fish, which travel between the valley and Pacific Ocean. Their reduced numbers have resulted in irrigation cutbacks in parts of the valley.
The meeting will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Salida Regional Library, 4835 Sisk Road.
