Trout fishing derby
Lake McSwain Marina, Merced Irritation District, Calaveras Trout Farm and A-1 Bait and Tackle will host a trout fishing derby on April 17 and 18 from 7 a.m. on the 17th to noon on the 18th. There will be 50 planted trout tagged and the first place prize is $3,000, and two more fish worth $1,000 each. Old Timer's reunion looking for honorees
The Old Timer's of Merced County are looking for honorees for this year's Pioneer Reunion. The event will be April 18 at the Italo-American Lodge and the group will be honoring Merced County residents who have resided in Merced County for at least 50 years and are at least 85 years of age.
