MODESTO -- The California Center for Cooperative Development will conduct a one-day workshop for dairy farmers to learn more about the Livestock Gross Margin-Dairy Insurance program, which became available on June 30.
The workshop will be held Aug. 12 at the Stanislaus County Ag Center, Harvest Hall, 3800 Cornucopia Way in Modesto.
The new program is aimed at helping producers manage price volatility of milk and feed.
The workshops are intended for producers, dairy and feed supply cooperatives, insurance providers, lenders and agricultural agencies.
The program run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and includes lunch. Cost is $20. Registration is due by Aug. 6. A wireless-enabled laptop is required and can be rented for $25 upon registration. Each laptop will be shared by two people. Scholarships are available on request.
