Around Town: New Year's dance

December 30, 2010 

St. Patrick's Catholic Church will hold its second New Year's Eve dance from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Friday at the church, 671 E. Yosemite Ave.

Tickets are $30, and no tickets will be sold at the door. There will be Los Amigos Band, appetizers, champagne and party favors. You must be 21 to attend.

Party at Legion

American Legion Merced Post 83 will hold a New Year's Eve party at

7 p.m. Friday with cowboy poets, line dance instructor, the Goldrush Gunslingers, Steppin Out Band, buffet and raffle.

Tickets are $20, with dancing until 12:30 a.m.


Karaoke party

Atwater Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9946 will hold a New Year's Eve karaoke party Friday at 1390 Broadway.

Playwriting workshop

Prices are $50 for a full day or $30 for half days. This is for 3- to 5-year-olds and they must be potty-trained.

Lines, Circles & Couple beginning-intermediate level dances from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the downtown Merced Multicultural Arts Center, third floor.
