The 2011 North San Joaquin Valley Almond Day will take place Jan. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Harvest Hall of the Stanislaus County Agricultural Center, Service and Crows Landing roads.
Topics will include selecting almond tree varieties, developing management programs for spider mites and leaf-footed bug, determining an almond orchard's irrigation needs, updating management of almond foliar diseases, almond orchard recycling and the effect on nematodes and other replant problems, and integrated pest management strategies to manage the replant problem in almonds.
