Crop report for week of Feb. 6

A report on crop conditions for Merced County for the week ending February 6 has been released by the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner’s office.

The winter wheat crop is 100 percent emerged and is rated good.

Almond pruning and orchard removal continues. New orchards and tree replants continue. Almond field fumigations have begun. Radicchio harvest continues. Sweet potato field fumigations have started.

Pasture and range conditions are good, with supplemental feeding of hay and nutrients to livestock continuing and sheeping off of alfalfa fields is continuing.
