Strawberry growers to meet in March

A meeting for strawberry growers will be held March 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of California Cooperative Extension, 2145 Wardrobe Ave., Merced.

Coffee, tea and cookies will be served at sign-in at 8:30 a.m. The program will include information on reading pesticide labels, weed identification and food safety when handling strawberries.

A free lunch will be available to those who make a reservation. The event is handicapped- accessible and interpretation will be available. The event is sponsored by the California Strawberry Commission and the UC Cooperative Extension.
